Frequently Asked Questions
- How long does it take to deliver a radiator from order?
All radiators are assembled to order. The radiators are built in stages which involves spray painting the sections before assembly, these are allowed to dry before being assembled.
Once assembled the radiators are tested to a pressure of 8bar over 24hrs before being sent back to the spray shop for a finishing coat. This again has to dry before wrapping and despatch.
The whole process takes approx. 1 - 2 weeks, longer during busy periods or for specific paint requests which have to be sourced from the paint manufacturer.
Occasionally radiators can fail the pressure test which means the radiator needs to be reassembled and adds to the time frame.
Therefore we cannot guarantee delivery dates.
- Can I order a specific colour?
Yes. If you know the 'British Standard' colour code for a particular paint, we can colour match. However, it can add to the manufacturing time if specific coloured paints have to be ordered in from the paint manufacturer.
The standard colours listed have been found to be the most popular traditional colours requested and are readily available from stock.
- Can I fit a cast iron radiator over existing pipework?
Yes. The radiator is built in sections to the required length, dependant on the number of sections used. Allow extra on your measurement for the valves between pipe centres. You would also need to take into account the distance out from the skirting board. We strongly advise to have your radiators onsite before fitting the pipework.
