Cast Iron RadiatorsCast iron radiators were introduced in the mid Victorian period circa. 1880 into Britain, originating from America where they were originally designed for use with steam. In Britain however cast iron radiators were adapted for hot water systems and used in public buildings. It wasn't until the 1930s before they became more widely used for domestic use.
